The Native Struggle in Red, White and Blue
The history of Native Americans in US is a that of strength and on-going struggles. All imperialist projects of colonialism around the world are a history of systemically oppressed people. And it is a history of what happens when humans divide themselves into us vs them, superior vs inferior, human vs savage. But the real savages are the ones that perpetuate the ideas of division and hatred.

Pequot Massacre & Thanksgiving
Red, White & Blue tradition…
On June 5, 1637, During the Pequot War, an allied Puritan and Mohegan force under English Captain John Mason attacks a Pequot village in Connecticut, burning and slaughtering some 500 Native American women, men and children.
“An official proclamation of Thanksgiving was declared by the Massachusetts Bay Colony Governor John Winthrop in 1637 after the English settlers’ and their Native American allies victory against the Pequot tribe at the Battle of Mistick Fort (located today in Mystic, Connecticut). This battle resulted in a great loss of life (mostly a massacre of Native Americans) and signaled the beginning of the end of the Pequot War. Thanksgiving was declared in celebration of the settlers’ victory.”

Alpha-Strata
Use this link to enlarge the artwork: https://www.sharpbubble.com/#/alpha-strata/
Alpha Strata is a series of 36 illustrations that make up one large image.
Each illustration denotes an alpha-numerical value.
36 characters, consisting of 26 letters of the English alphabet A-Z and 10 numerical values 0-9.
The goal of the project is to demonstrate that symbols like letters and numbers that make
up our languages are all man made. That is important to understand for everyone,
especially for people with learning disabilities, because some of us might think we are lesser
than another just because we learn differently. However, there is nothing wrong with that,
in fact learning differently is what fuels innovation and development.

Leather Back MelodiesLeatherback Turtles are the largest sea turtle species and are critically endangered due to increased egg collecting and unintentional bycatch. I am working on creating a 32 page children's book about endangered species. "On the Backs of the Endangered" is a series of illustrations for a children’s book of critically endangered, endangered and vulnerable species to raise awareness of the current and future generations about the rapidly disappearing species. Because there isn’t something like this out there, I think it is essential to teach children about the importance of environmental responsibility and preservation for the future.
