    Let me Fly

This piece was inspired by my summers spent down in rural Virginia. It represents growing into adulthood and eventually wanting independence from our parents. I left the parents faces unfinished to show that even though they won't always be around physically, their presence will always be there to guide us.

It features a dark-skinned man in a green suit walking down a runway trying to balance the stereotypes associated with masculinity while remaining true to himself.

  • Everybody Eats
    Everybody Eats

This piece reflects my relationship to family and authenticity. It's about being together without feeling the need to perform: just existing in a shared space. The handwritten recipe is a nod to care and memory, referencing how culture and love are often passed down through everyday rituals. such as sharing a meal.

This piece explores infidelity and the damage it causes to relationships. I used fabric to represent the trust and shared history, using techniques like fraying and tearing to show how betrayal can create a long lasting effect.
