ANNAPOLIS SAILING

ANNAPOLIS SAILING - Roger has published five books on Annapolis. He created quite a large portfolio of images of sailing in producing these books. Roger is not a sailor but has sailed with some of the best. Gary Jobson, America's Cup Winning Tactician 1977, was very helpful in editing his images for his new Annapolis book. Most of the time he jokes that he is a hitchhiker on the bay. How he gets on the bay does not make him any less serious about his images.

HISTORIC ANNAPOLIS

Roger has been privileged in the last 30 years of working with Historic Annapolis, the State of Maryland, the Naval Academy and numerous other historic sites to capture most of the historic properties in Annapolis. Roger did most of this in a need to create some of the most complete books on the city. Historic Annapolis has become one of his passions. He was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2014 by Historic Annapolis and he is a volunteer at the Naval Academy Museum.

NAVAL ACADEMY

Roger has created two of the best selling books on the Naval Academy. Roger began working with the Naval Academy in 1983 when he began work on his Maryland book. Over the years he became familiar with just about everything at the Naval Academy. He has met and photographed some of the most distinguished graduates including President Carter, General Peter Pace, Rear Admiral William C. Miller and Daniel "Dan" Akerson. Roger has been in most of the buildings at the Naval Academy and has even made it to the top of the Chapel. If you want to understand what the Naval Academy is all about, look at his book.

ROGER MILLER BOOKS

Roger Miller has, since 1983, created and published 38 books. What follows is a view of some of them. You can see all of them on his website at www.rogermillerphoto.net . He has published and sold over 190,000 copies of these books. Roger has had forewords of his books written by President Carter, President Bush, Sr. , General Schwartzkopf and by most of the Governors of Maryland since Governor Schaefer.

SELF PORTRAITS

Roger has created some interesting self portraits over the years. Some are serious and some are not. It is good to view yourself with a sense of humor and Roger does have a good sense of humor.

MARYLAND IMAGES

Roger has created images of Maryland for years. These are some of them from Central Maryland, Southern Maryland, The Eastern Shore and Western Maryland.

BALTIMORE IMAGES

Roger Miller produced his first book on Baltimore in 1983 - "Baltimore A Portrait." He has published five additional books on the city since. He has created some very interesting images of Baltimore.

MIXED MEDIA

Roger has created a series of images that were a combination of photographs that were hand painted. These are not just a photograph and not just a painting. Each one is something new and original. Roger began doing these at the Maryland Institute College of Art where he would use toners and food coloring on photographs.

COMMERCIAL IMAGES

Roger has, for years, created some very interesting commercial images. These are some of them.

AMAZING FLOWERS

Flowers are amazing. They are so delicate, yet so powerful. They exist to be sexually attractive so that their species will continue. If they are not fertilized they will not bring forth new flowers in the next year. Flowers are also just plain beautiful and made to be looked at and enjoyed.
