Pairs 2024-2025
This is the beginning of a new series of paintings. The subject is a collection of small disparate objects that I picked up only because I found the forms or colors appealing. I am interested in the simple act of pairing them together, exploring the push and pull of the juxtaposition and the formation of new meanings.
Naturals 2022-2023
This series of paintings began with a group of found natural objects that I painted from direct observation. These objects then influenced and became part of imagined landscapes based on memories of specific sites.
Tyaskin 2021
I started this series of small works on paper after viewing some summer night storms. These initial works involved alot of scratching and scraping of the paper surface. As I continued the series the focus became exploring new ways to work and abrade the paper surface and find different ways of mark making.
