About Mya

Baltimore County  

MYA HAMILTON, a native of Baltimore, Maryland,

began dancing at the young age of five. She studied at The Ailey School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, C Debbie Allen Dance Academy, The Peabody Conservatory, and The Washington School of Ballet. She is a Baltimore School for the Arts Alumna, cum laude graduate of Towson University with a BFA in Dance Performance and graduate of Purchase College, SUNY with a MFA in Performance/Teaching.

  • I am...a Liturgical Dance Minister
    Piece entitled, "God Provides" displays how no matter your circumstance, how events unfold, God will always give you what you need at the perfect time. At the core, I always show gratitude to my Heavenly Father for giving me this gift to share with the world.

    I am a…Choreographer

    More works to be added soon; however, “United in Grief” really challenged me as a Choreographer, Teacher and Dancer. I dissected the five stages of grief and challenged my dancers to use personal experiences to connect to this piece.

      Students in the 8th grade dance magnet program explored how emotions can be used within movement. Music was used as an enrichment and educational component. I do not own the rights to this song.
