GaolThis piece called "Gaol" was premiered in my last shoe "StepDance". This will give the idea of how I mix Irish dancing with cultural themes such as the oppression in the North of Ireland and modern music.

Knock KnockThis is one of our signature Irish dance numbers called Knock Knock that was featured in our last show "StepDance". We use drumsticks to go with the rhythm and sounds of our hard shoes. -
WipeoutThis photo taken of a surfer on the West Coast of Ireland was the inspiration for the dance called "Wipeout". As a paddleboarding racing champion, I am tickled that I found a way to connect Irish dance and surfing! -
AccordionAll my projects and shows include live music. I have hired the best irish musicians baltimore has to offer. I also hired a blues band from Baltimore's Best Band Rehearsal for our Clogging piece. I personally play the accordion and djembe and look for any opportunity to incorporate live music in my projects. -
StepDance Irish Dance ShowPremiered at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore 2013. The show included a beatboxer from Baltimore City, A local singer, 2 ballerinas from Towson, and Collegiate Stepping from Step Afrika! This collaboration with these artists gave me the platform needed for my next project "Slainte" -
Graffiti WarehouseThis photo is from the Station North photo shoot in our traditional Irish costumes. This is the part of town where I found our beatboxer, Sho'dekeh Talifero. It's amazing how two very different cultures can come together so beautifully. -
Patterson TheaterAs you can tell by the look on my face, I absolutely love this style of traditional Irish dancing. I danced with O'Malley's March around St. Patrick's Day and debuted one of the pieces slated for our new show " Slainte". -
Irish SoftshoeAlthough our show features hardshoes and accapella rhythms, we also incorporate graceful traditional softshoe. Ireland is one of the the only cultural dance forms that has both hard and soft-shoe dancing. -
Station North Photo ShootThe location for the photo shoot for our principal dancers was at the Station North Graffiti Warehouse. The space was very inspiring given that our Irish dance show has some pieces with an urban feel to it. -
Slainte Irish Dance Show PromoThis is our promo for our upcoming Irish dance show, "Slainte", which will premiere Winter 2014. The show will feature a variety of Baltimore artists. Director, dancer, and choreographer Maureen Gately, takes Irish dance to a new level of collaboration.
