It A Party LIfe
I think of my work as whimsically meditative, sardonic, and self-effacingly perverse. Influenced by a quirky take on science fictionalized evolutionary biology and cellular mutation, I am interested in themes of accumulation, repetition and consumption. I often use drawing as a catalyst to create a stream of associated images, words and shapes that then inform the dream-like narratives of my paintings. Using paint has allowed for a more layered and densely woven approach to how imagery and associative arrangements reveal themselves. Mundane objects mutate and repeat multiple times describing shapes and paths on the surface of the painting often transforming into characters that act and interact within a tangled, corporeal and subconscious universe.
