From behind us the pin screamed into the equatorial plane of Hvaryouk on the night side. We watched it disapear into the crust and a shockwave began to spread from the point of impact. In seconds, Hvaryouk began to shudder from within and the hot red glimmers of magma began to form at the planet's plate divisions. It was as if the core had shaken off the outer layers. As the planet's outer structure began to unfold and enter orbit the first shreds of Hvaryouks crust passed by our ship.
"That was just barely sub-light..."
"We've nothing to fear."
The inner spheroid of molten core turned and folded open as the total elimination of the atmosphere plunged it into vacuum cold. The disruptive gravity of the whirling crust pulled and fractured the core along its central axis. As it fell into the same tumble as the other pieces of the planet the once gleaming surface dimmed to a coal glow and completely broke apart.

My work conjures up mass in a real and implied way. The works are all very heavy and the arrangements within are tightly stacked and economic in composition. Their texture produces an overwhelming craving to be touched. When the density and surface are combined they draw the viewer into a desire to handle the works in a way not typical to the inspection of art. The most consistent element is the craquelure that marks the evacuation of water from deep within their structure. This transformation takes place in all of them and marks an end to malleability and an evolution into a raw product waiting to be shifted to another form.
