  • Baltimore Fireworks
    Baltimore Fireworks

Shot from the grounds of the Baltimore Museum of Industry. I had to carefully position myself to have the fireworks directly behind the tugboat. The picture reveals the industrial, nautical, and festive spirit of Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

  • Deserted Boardwalk - Ocean City, Maryland
Deserted Boardwalk - Ocean City, Maryland

On a cold, wet, winter night I took this photograph of the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland. The vanishing point pulls the eye to the distant end and accentuates the sense of desertion. This is in stark contrast to the dense crowds that would be there in the summer months.

    Rope on a Spindle

While photographing a farm slated for demolition in Harford County, Maryland, I stumbled upon this scene that conveyed a strong sense of neglect and desolation. I often use "painterly effects" for what I call "embellishing the quintessential".

  • The Vane Frog
    The Vane Frog

While photographing a small pond, this little fella popped up to check me out. (S)he then struck this pose for me as if to say, "look how pretty I am". I was very fortunate to get this shot with a 400 mm lens, being far enough away to not cause her to jump away. I was honored that this photo was included in the 2024 Chesapeake Bay Foundation calendar and has been purchased for several private collections.

    Iconic Woman

Shot with a Mumford Time Machine and Canon Speedlights in a dark room. Precise timing had to configured to freeze the action at about 1/10,00th of a second. This was one of the most technically challenging photographs I have ever taken.
