We Are Seeds
Reveling in my own company, Audre and James came to mind. curious what it must have been to sit with self in coffee shops and tucked away corners on other continents, conjuring words that have shaped movements.
A few scattered thoughts later, what if this work was all towards imagination justice? the phrase “imagination justice” is still echoing. it feels big, bigger than me.
We’re fighting for the conditions needed for the global majority’s imagination to be safe enough and fed enough and cherished enough to bloom and prosper and build new worlds. And what if it isn’t only through our grief and anger that we open portals to our ancestors? What if it is through joy and pleasure and softness? In my indulgence, had I opened a portal to the black queer ancestors who steadied this journey? Tapping into those unapologetically leading the charge toward the black queer imagination and the abundance it brings? -
The Future is Queer
This is simply a fact. But today, Black Queer kids aren’t safe and when their lives are taken, there’s silence.
#MikaylaMiller and #DonnellRochester and so many other young Black Queer folx should still be here. Their lives mattered and I refuse to accept that queerness is where we draw the line at fiercely, unapologetically protecting Black lives.
Sitting in the back of my throat is a tangle of anger and heartache and a sure commitment to our Black Queer youth. I will show up for you. I will say your name. I will challenge the systems that failed you. I will carve space for your abundant futures. I will not let us be erased.
This illustration has been a way to wade through and sit with these feelings, much of which i’m still at a loss for words to share. -
Magic Makers
In this season of ancestral exploration, I asked my mother if we had any treasured family recipes. She told me that she’s always just played it by ear, confirming what I already knew from a childhood staring at an impossible fridge only to see my mother whip up an eclectic and worldly meal for dinner. Unsatisfied with her answer, I called my grandma in the hopes that there’d be a secret golden recipe tucked away safely, a token of ancestral knowledge. Beaming with pride, my grandma told me her cakes were always a touch different, depending on what fruits and flavors were in the house. And then it dawned on me that my mother and her mother carry within them the craft of seeing beyond what is in front of them and making their own magic.
I am humbled and elevated and honored to be the daughter of this magic maker. -
When Little Black Girls Dream
as little black girls set their eyes on new horizons, our ancestors are beaming.
this piece was such a joy to make. it brought up memories of the fall before i graduated from Hopkins when my grandma came to visit. she is the kind of woman who’s poise proceeds her, dressed to the nines with a smile that’d light up broadway. as she glided through campus, young men eagerly opened doors for her like royalty. we found a cozy spot in the big windows of a cafe on campus and she told me about her life when she was my age. in that moment i felt the weight of what it meant to be there, to bring my ancestors with me in pursuit of big ideas.
with this piece, i got to imagine what new horizons i’ll see in my later years because of those who come after me. what a beautiful cycle when little black girls dream.

"Whole Teacher" Workbook
I collaborated on the visual alchemy for edwell's 21-Day Whole Teacher Challenge, weaving threads of design into a tapestry that honors the mental well-being of educators nationwide. This transformative Challenge birthed wellness practices, cultivating a virtual sanctuary where community members could boldly embrace conversations destigmatizing mental health challenges. The 21 graphic decks, a sacred offering across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and the daily Mailchimp Newsletter, wove a visual spell, each pixel a testament to the resilience and vitality of educators on this collective journey toward wholeness.
A Guide for Big Ideas
I developed this guide for big dreamers who are in the early stages of bringing their big hairy audacious ideas to the entrepreneurial sphere. This self-paced guide is designed to prompt visionaries through grounding their ideas into comprehensive action-plans. The elementary design is intended to make this rather intimidating process more accessible and inviting to folks who are usually more fluid, rather than structured. It's been a joy to share this with folks who are seeking to bring their ideas to life.
Calling in Care
In the wake of George Floyd's murder, like many, I mobilized to use my talents to develop the Calling in Care project, an information design initiative for emergent response that helps citizens tap on appropriate emergency response care units rather than defaulting on the police. If we find ourselves able to help in crisis, it is our minimal responsibility to tap in the appropriate resources. This piece is specifically formatted to be easily sharable on social media and saved to one's phone for quick access.
Planting Portals
I spent a month with a group of folks i didn’t yet know, untangling the history of the Black experience in America and our dissonant hand in oppression on a global scale.
We honored the particular becoming of Liberia, a relationship that goes un-noted in our history books. We met every nuance with tenderness. We began weaving a tether to Liberian people that only comes with historical context and deep care. We opened a portal.
This piece reverberates a few of the themes we explored, from Nat Turner & Co's rebellion, to Baltimore's resistance to Maryland's Colonization Society, to the Du Bois x Garvey debates, to the exploitation of Liberia's natural resources, and the power of archiving as a tool for collecting & uncovering ancestral memory.
Thank you to the powerful guides through this experience, Bilphena (IG @liberianjue_ ), Sho-Shana (IG @sheeggo ), and guest facilitators Savannah Wood (IG @savannahinpublic) & Solomon Adé (IG @_solomonade). New Generation Scholars is an essential beacon in Baltimore.
Dent Education Annual Report
Dent Education is a youth innovation incubator committed to working with Baltimore's high school students to launch social ventures and help realize their vision for their community. 2023 was a year of substantial transformation, a fitting time to publish their first Annual Report. It was a joy to reconnect with the team and reimagine how they share the Dent story with the world.

Protest Safety Tips
As people show up for Black Lives, Trans Lives, Palestinian Lives, Sudanese Lives, and Congolese Lives, I wanted to equip folks with the information they need to reduce risk and move responsibly. This infographic was informed by Baltimore Legal Action Team and Vision Change Win. It's critical for artists to partner with organizations already doing social impact work to amplify voices and share knowledge across the collective.
