Rise of the Afrotaku

I use satire in my paintings and sculptures to examine popular misconceptions of blackness in contemporary society. I seek out cultural intersectionalites between "Blerds" (black nerds) and "Otaku" (Japanese nerds), merging the eccentric visual language of anime with Western realist painting and sculpture.
