Festina Lente (Make Haste Slowly)

These are digital ink jet prints. Using the small drawings from the Hotel Drawing Series (below) I experimented with blowing up the drawings - to make the small mark more monumental. The color and background refer to the everyday landscape of Sorrento, Sant'Agnello and Naples.

Hotel Drawings

The Hotel Drawings are a series of small ink drawings of  mirrors or frames. They were started in a hotel room in southern Italy. In 2008, living in the center of Florence, Italy, I was struck by how the decorative architectural forms literally elbowed me out into the street. So I have been experimenting with ways to make these lap sized drawings as big as I am.
