The curved shape is intended to resemble a cloth, or perhaps a curtain hanging in front of a window. The colors of the frame and the shape combine where they overlap at the top and bottom. It is an unusual type of transparency because the colors combine additively, unlike the subtractive effect that might occur with real materials.
