Work in progress. Short description of project below:
Corps ®evolution is a dance-theatre performance that uses the structure of a video game to explore the physical and socio-political limits of the body. The video game context presents a paradox of power. The virtual world of a video game allows the protagonist, Player 1, to physically adapt to multiple environments and overcome physical obstacles. Yet Player 1 does not control her movement â?? the audience does. As a live video game, Corps (R)evolution is an intersection of real and virtual, enhanced with live music, puppetry, and dynamic set design. Corps (R)evolution is a collaborative project directed by Claire Cote with support from Effervescent Collective, BXDC, and others. Music by Chase O'Hara, Dan Breen, Josh Van Horne and Bethany Dinsick.
