These abstract fluid paintings are a part of my collection that I've been working on for a while. I first started this technique in the spring of 2017, and was intrigued by online videos. I am inspired by the color and unpredictable design that is still created by manipulation, pure nature and chance, regardless of tools used to achieve them. My paintings are created using unconventional techniques and tools, including strainers, paper towels, blow torch, and cake turn tables. These paintings are created using various combinations of chemical mixtures. One of my favorites is the mixture of silicone, floetrol, water, and acrylic paint. Glue is also another possible agent to use when doing fluid paintings. In addition, I've also completed various Youtube videos demonstrating these techniques. Below are a few of the techniques I use in my work:
Pour Painting: Achieved by pouring each pre-mixed color one by one into a large cup and then proceeding to pour the cup of paints onto a canvas in any chosen fashion.
Tree Ring: Achieved by pouring each pre-mixed color one by one into a large cup while tilting it slightly, pouring the cup of paint in a small circular motion onto the canvas.
Flip Cup: Achieved by pouring each pre-mixed color one by one into a large cup, placing the canvas on top of the cup, and while holding the cup and canvas together, flip them over so that the cup is now on top of the canvas. Proceed by lifting the cup from the canvas, revealing colors and design.
