The project, "Activism," is dedicated to photos showing social justice & peace activists protesting  war, torture, discrimination, police brutality, unjust government polices and various other related issues. It also includes a slideshow of photos reflecting the laudable efforts in Baltimore, after the April, 2015 "Uprising," to bring peace and healing to the community. Plus, there is a video of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City, Marilyn Mosby. She spoke in Baltimore, at a solidarity rally with the "Womens' March on Washington,"  Mosby's topic was "Warrior Women."  My photos were taken mostly around Baltimore City and/or in Washington, D.C.  There are two categories, Social Justice Activism #1 and Social Justice Activism #2, within this major Project.

  • After the Riots: Baltimore City Seeks Peace/Healing/Justice
This is a slideshow of a few photos from the day after the riots, April 27, 2015, in Baltimore City. It also displays photos of some activists in the city, young and old alike, drawing on their deepest resources and fighting back. To that end, check out the photos of a mostly youth-led rally/march on April 29th. It reminded me of the peace-loving "Flower Children" of the 60s. Then, enter the music-makers! On that same morning, the talented musicians of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra gathered on the steps of the celebrated Meyerhoff Symphony Hall to perform an ad hoc concert for peace, healing and justice. They did so under the baton of their splendid maestro, Marin Alsop. The bottom line of this ongoing battle is this: "Baltimore United Forever!"
