We are all fighting the elements within and outside ourselves, here we are finding the place where we are not the wave but the water.

Astrological Meditation: Humanity & the Cosmos-2019 Project

We visualize Astrological Meditation Paintings on the walls of households in Baltimore, Maryland, the United States, all countries big and small.  These paintings will serve as a reminder that we are more the same than different, that we all have the same blue blood flowing  through our veins, breath the same air ...  Through these Meditations we will begin understanding that we are here to care for each other , the Earth, its solar system and beyond, bringing a balance of Joy and Serenity into our lives and our community.

Please note the two paintings we submitted, Aquarius and Virgo, are 85% complete and are 2 of a planned 12 part set of all the Astrological signs to be completed in 2019.  We hope any grant fund will help us complete this community project.

Being the Art

We decided to wear our artwork so that we could have more interaction with the public about the Athena Sophia collaborative work and the importance of working together as family, friends, community, country and world. In this art project we continue to melt all  races into one, the blue race, with one goal, to enjoy life and the beauty of our blue planet.

I Am Water

Athena Sophia  (Bonnie J. Warren & Carrie S. Reinking ) 2016 project, “I  Am Water” was born when the artists began studying the physical motions of Wing Chun, Kung Fu, Artists and Bruce Lee’s desire to move more like water.   They decided to  explore his idea in painting while expanding the idea further from being more like water, to actually being the water,  “I am water”.  What does it mean to be water?  Water can be soft or hard, calm or violent, it nourishes life and destroys life, changing into many forms, solid, gas and liquid.  It is everything and nothing.  Danielle Egnew writes about water and weaves it into a 2017 challenge for our USA.  She says we can choose to be a stone or water.  Those that choose to be more like water “are a river of the collective language of love, the most effective language of all human design.  A river flows around obstacles, and keeps flowing.  It doesn’t stop and argue with every stone, paranoid that its own rocky bed is intentionally attempting to change its direction....the water views the stones as part of the flow.  The stones view the water as that which shapes them”.   The Blue People in the “I am water” series and other works of Athena Sophia,  not only represent the transformation of the physical body and mind to water, but allows all Earthlings to relate to the subjects and hopefully be inspired themselves to explore and contemplate the meaning that we are all water.  Water, the Universal Solvent.

Sophia's Blue Fairy Tree of Life

I choose the peach tree as the Tree of Life because it is the tree of immortality and life everlasting. The peach tree is the Tree of Life for the blue fairies. Amongst the peaches are the ten spheres, or stations if you will, of the Qabalistic tree. These stations are aspects of life that we either find ourselves in at different points in our lives, or other times we aspire to with conscious focused study. It is something I continually find myself doing whether on purpose or by osmosis. It is always a growing experience, like the Tree of Life.

Athena's Blue Fairy Sacred Tree of Life

This manifestation of the Tree of Life was first inspired by ornamental honeysuckle vine which grows outside my studio. Recalling the story of the Sacred Tree, "For all the people of the earth, the Creator has planted a Sacred Tree under which they may gather, and find healing, power, wisdom and security". I imagined the honeysuckle was the Blue Fairy's, Sacred Tree of Life. The Blue Fairies being the final evolution of people. As I continued to paint, I imagined the trees roots growing down to the Earth's core likes veins. Once I reached the Earth's red core, I understood that everything has seven Chakras. Chakras, the spiral vibration of all life, begins at a root, represented as red. Thus, I visualized that everything living on the Earth is rooting towards it's core and being one with the earth, all things reaching outward towards the Sun and the Universe to Enlightenment.

Exploring the World of Fairies

Exploring the world of fairies-The Athena Sophia Collective was born in the Summer of 2013, when artists Athena (Bonnie J. Warren) and Sophia (Carrie S. Reinking) were plein air painting in Bonnie’s garden full of edible flowers, herbs, veggies and fairy like creatures.

The more focused they became on the garden, the more in tune they became with the dance of fairies. Athena's and Sophia's paint brushes danced on canvases as Sophia explored the idea that the garden was filled with blue fairies. Athena's brush began to tell the story that these fairies were always there, hiding among the flowers, coming out to dance and celebrate life when no one was looking or listening.
