About Adam
Already a prominent figure on the East Coast club and art scene, Schwarz is a producer, DJ, artist and performer from St. Louis, Missouri, now based in Baltimore, Maryland. In his productions, DJ sets and performances, Schwarz pushes a truly singular style that synthesizes the rap music he grew up with with the club music of his adopted hometown, refracted through an ecstatic pop lens that is as charming as it is conceptual.

Why Do I Feel Like This?
"Why Do I Feel Like This?" features found video sourced from the website Youtube, accompanied by improvised music created using the widely available and cheap music software program Fruity Loops. Since beginning this project in 2011, it has been performed in a wide variety of settings including the experimental music venue, The Red Room, the punk warehouse space "America", and the gallery at the City Arts building as a part of the MOMENTO MAURY art show. Besides being performed live, a limited-edition DVD "This is Just to prove you can't be Happy all the Time", and on-line album, "The Worst Pain Ever" were released. The piece has been controversial to many due not only to the dark and uncomfortable nature of the work in general, but specifically the use of the videos, which are primarily sourced from videos woman have uploaded to Youtube of themselves crying and talking about being depressed. It raises questions about not just what material is "legal" to use to re-appropriate for art, but also what is "moral". The project has been praised by a number of artists and critics, including world-renowned video artist Jacob Ciocci.
