Ryan Syrell is a Baltimore-based painter and educator. He received his MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2017 and his BFA from SUNY Purchase in 2006. Ryan was the inaugural recipient of the David Wurtzel Travel Grant for study in Florence, IT (2016), received a research grant for painting from VCU in 2017, and exhibited at the Baltimore Museum of Art as a Sondheim Prize finalist in 2015.
