    As I entered my second trimester, I started to feel secure enough to make some artwork about my pregnancy following previous losses. This painting is of my husband's baby blanket, rolled up into a protective, comforting circle. The orange segment on the right represents a new chapter in our lives.

  • Tossing and Turning
    Tossing and Turning

    Like many other pregnant people, sleep became increasingly uncomfortable throughout my pregnancy. Over the months, I piled pillow after pillow up and own my bed to accommodate my increasing belly weight and size, heart burn, sciatic nerve pain, and eventual trouble breathing while laying down. These pillows were constantly rearranged in the attempt to get some rest.

Libby Formant is a visual artist mainly creating 2D works. For years since graduating the University of Maryland, College Park, her practice was focused on acrylic and pen works encompassing surreal, sci-fi/fantasy, and nature based subjects.
