About Wendell Supreme

Geometry is a universal language. Every place and time has its own logic of relation, connection, and interaction. The quality of these arrangements impacts our environments and individual lives. As a visual art, geometric abstraction has the ability to interrogate modern systems and technology with patterns, shapes, and lines, questioning how forms, and therefore we, interact and achieve balance.

Progression

In September 2022, I spearheaded the development of a public art piece titled "Progression." I took charge of organizing the design, material acquisition, timeline management, volunteer coordination, and promotional efforts. With the backing of BGE and under the supervision of The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore and Shelonda Stokes, this project was successfully executed within a week. The community played a crucial role in its realization, with participants ranging from school-age individuals and various organizations to longshoremen, retirees, artists, entrepreneurs, and a dedicated team of BGE employees.

Measuring an impressive 45 feet by 100 feet, the mural seamlessly spans a wall, sidewalk, and street, seamlessly transforming 2D artwork into an immersive installation. Its lively and whimsical design has quickly made it a sought-after attraction for tourists, creative influencers, and passersby. The mural serves as a canvas for individuals to share their positive Baltimore experiences, fostering a sense of safety and unity within the community.
