About Michael
On Reservoir Hill
On Reservoir Hill is a photographic project that portrays the people and places of this historic neighborhood in central Baltimore. Through street portraiture and urban landscape photography, I aim to capture the essence of Reservoir Hill.
My project is both a tribute and a reflection. My work is inspired by former resident and documentarian John Clark Mayden. It honors the rich history and culture of Reservoir Hill, while also exploring its present and future challenges and opportunities in a changing city. By documenting the everyday lives and activities of the residents, from the community garden to the summer nights, I hope to show the beauty and resilience of this urban enclave, and the deep connection between the people and their environment.
On Reservoir Hill is a visual ode to a community, a celebration of its diversity, and an inquiry into its identity.
