Select Work

Generally a selection of more recent work that is going in a direction that I'd like more of my work to go, essentially having underlying themes and formal qualities that can be more strongly tied together.

  • The Life of the Party Easel Table Lamps
The Life of the Party Easel Table Lamps

These are a revival of my easel theme, they are made of wood, lamp parts, and custom shades.  Completed November 2024, 27"H x 11"W x 9"D

The Yellow Boat

This is a sculpture that I placed in downtown Baltimore on Pratt Street in 2011. It was originally part of the the Baltimore Sculpture Project which was sponsored by the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts.  It was planned to be temporary for two years, but its well into it's thirteenth year  It's seen a lot and been through bit but it's still there.  It's made of cypress and is 8' H x 8' W x 4' D

There was supposed to be a plaque by it that never got installed, here's what it was supposed to say...   in art and in life the journey and the destination are often one and the same.  The image of the boat hull together with the easel is meant to evoke not only a ship's mast, smokestack, and rigging, but an anchor and lighthouse as well.  My intent is to represent the wonderful places one may go by simply standing still.
