More Kneeling Figures...
I've continued the process of working into observational imagery from my sketchbooks, utilizing mixed media and collage. I paint and collage into the sketchbook drawings, exploring the kneeling figure as political and spiritual metaphor.
These figures originated from my interest in a spiritual life. As the body of work grows, a wider range of meanings emerge.
The work comes out of a personal experience, but viewers bring their own interpretations and experiences to a piece of art. This imagery may trigger and evoke different meanings for different people. I like that.
