History is more than dates and facts; it's about lives lived and memories made.  In 2021, Lisa invited the public to send her trinkets and material to include in a mosaic that would commemorate Historic Ellicott City's 250th Anniversary.  Along with the items, the contributers were asked to send a note explaining how the town was special to them.  Lisa received more than 80 items and their accompanying stories.  She created a 6-part wall hanging depicting iconic images of Historic Ellicott City and incorporating the memories of the community into the work.  The community-sourced mosaic is c

In our human endeavors, we use masks for both social and expressive reasons. They are used for funeral or fertility rituals, to mold the behavior of group members through admonition or supplication, and to enhance group ceremonies that impact  intra-group relationships or those with the larger world. Historically, masks are used to commune with gods and goddesses, to heal the sick, change the weather, or portray characters in plays or reenactments of mythological events.  Today, masks are found at festive occasions such as birthdays and Carnival.
The popularity of Cicada art this past Summer was quite a phenomenon, which I believe was tied to the need for a symbol of hope and renewal after a long period of fear and doubt about the future in the midst of a worldwide pandemic.

After creating and selling a very popular cicada-based T-shirt design, a friend suggested I make a stained glass cicada suncatcher, and commisioned me to make one. He also rightly suggested that they would also be very popular, and I ended up selling 16 of them in total!
A friend’s mother and fellow artist residing in Colorado reached out to me one day last April with a commission idea, which led to exploring a completely different design process than I’d done before, and ended up being a very popular item and generated quite a few sales, new connections, and new ideas. She sent me an example photo of a re-purposed bicycle wheel with multiple pieces of colored glass soldered together between the spokes of the wheel to make a large sun catcher.
