“The Drill Team” - a whimsical take on our oil-driven culture and our passion to be members of a winning team. They are constructed of vintage gas and oil cans and resemble cheerleader outfits.

Each piece measures approximately 55" x 17" x 15"

The sewn figures parallel my painting and mixed media processes.  Stitching is drawing, fabric is paint, and attached objects create layers. Through collecting, sorting  and valuing, materials headed for the landfill are sewn together to make something whole again.

Night Moves is a conceptual book of poetry published by Publishing Genius Press in 2013

The book is a collection of thoughts and conversations about Bob Seger's classic song of the same name, all culled from YouTube.
Beyond our comprehension there are Entities that we do not understanding. Some may be "captured" for brief moment in time and space. These characters represent an exploration into their identities.
When you have an idea or a dream, where do you put it? These are boxes "en assemblage" and compositions on boards. They may represent a nostalgic feeling, a memory or a snide comment. They may suggest a narrative, or illustrate a mystery.

Bird imagery, with its rich abundance of visual metaphor, has always fascinated me. It has taken shape in “Birdland”, my series of wall assemblages.

As if risen from the ashes like a phoenix, a multitude of found objects—cast-off furniture parts, aged metals and hardware--have materialized into avian forms of fancy, shaped by my vision and the tools and processes of my studio, which together attempt to re-interpret and honor the unique histories betrayed by each weathered component.

Traveling and exploring in Brittany, France during a month-long artist residency was the impetus for my body of found object townscapes. Using abandoned paint boxes left by previous artists at the chateau in Rochefort-en-Terre, I began to create my townscapes vision. In my home studio I have continued the evolving, travel-based series using found objects discovered on my daily walks in the woods with my dog. I create my work primarily with old furniture parts, aged metals and cast-off hardware.
Assemblage: Oil on wood, acrylic, photographs, objects. 20"h x 16"w x 2"d.
This assemblage a narrative, but it is open, so you can have your own story or questions.
Assemblage: oil on wood, gold leaf, thread, objects. 13"h x 10"w x 4"d. This started off as a composition based on the old cigar press. By the time I was finished, the spheres, gears, and incised blue lines and circles seemed to refer to something cosmological, maybe from time before modern cosmology.
