Have you ever gone to the mall right after watching home videos during the holidays and then gotten a headache from all the Christmas lights? A video projection installation that projects onto brick and other found object sculpture, including a TV playing a VHS recording of “A Charlie Brown Christmas”.

A sociable bunk bed fort for adults. Once inside you are engulfed in red and can sit on the couch and watch a strange home movie narrative unravel from the inside or outside of the fort. Participants are welcome to relax read or chat in the space.

The images in this series are metaphorical containers for memories. As in Marcel Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past, these mementos act as building blocks in “the vast structure of recollection.” Often personal, the objects embedded in the panels represent stories of family and friends. Included, for example, are fragments of souvenirs my grandparents brought me as a child. Several panels hold items I salvaged while emptying my mother’s apartment after she died.

These everyday relics are the odd bits and pieces that settle to the backs of household drawers, surviving the sifting of what gets used and what gets thrown away.

A way of thinking about the past from a critical viewpoint and relating it to the present.  How are things different? How are things changing? Does anything really change? Does social injustice act like a chameleon and get better at blending in? When one culture dominates and dictates life for all, biases are ingrained into the very fabric of our world.  

The objects used in creating the "Logic" series are all personal items I've collected since the 70's. There are vintage PC boards from my father, some of my brother's old toys, pieces from old games and various items found in my home and studio. Each item has a personal memory and emotional significance. The dream below relates some of my inspirations.

Fret & Focus, is a current and ongoing project that attempts to visualize and research daily concerns and worries using quasi-scientific means of collection and presentation. Microscope slides are created from physical aspects associated with the subjects of worry.  They question and hope to utilize sight as a means of accessing knowledge and understanding. 

Transit is a series of work that speaks to the increasing number of  immigrants from other countries who come to America in pursuit of the American Dream.
