William's profile

The walls of mother's home showcase my childhood of art -- from abstract "William working with markers (age 4)" to 6' tall realist portraits of my highschool friends. Despite graduating from my arts-intensive highschool with an endorsement in visual arts, I decided to pursue applied mathematics and environmental science in college, but I continued to paint, taking transfer credits at MICA, convincing my peers in engineering to let me rearrange all the lamps in their cramped dorm rooms so they could pose dramatically for photography and reference material. I worked, first as a student employee and then later as a contracted instructor, for Baltimore Youth Film Arts, an organization within the JHU-MICA Film Centre that aims to provide film, photography, animation instruction to young Baltimore city residents. Since graduating college in 2021, I've worked as an editor on a number of short films and music videos in collaboration with Baltimore directors, artists, and rappers; and of course, continue to paint my friends when I find the time between comissioned work.
