William "Bill" Hughes is an author, photojournalist, illustrator, attorney, professional actor and world traveler. In his salad days, he worked on the waterfront as a member of the International Longshoremen Unions. As an actor, Hughes has appeared in many movies over the years; including four of John Waters' films, Matt Porterfield's classic, "Sollers Point," and Joe Portera's documetary on the Maryland Film Censor Board, "Sickies Making Films."  Hughes is a native of Baltimore and a graduate of Calvert Hall College H.S.  He also has an AA and JD degrees from the University of Baltimore and is a resident of Guilford. In the late 70s, Hughes served as the chief of the litigation divison for Baltimore City, under Mayor William Donald Schaefer. He has also posted thousands of photos and videos online, mostly dealing with peace and justice issues; but also on literary and travel happenings. For the last few years, Hughes has regularly contributed photos, commentaries and videos to an online newspaper, "The Baltimore-Post Examiner." Finally, he is the author of  four nonfiction books, one novel, and four books of photographs. His latest book of photographs, with an illustration tossed into the mix, is entitled: "My Favorite Photographs: Blasting Off from Baltimore Town."
