Sarah McCann is a Baltimore based community artist, curator and non-profit professional. She works to improve visibility, financial stability and project outcomes for artists, communities and organizations. She currently serves as the Director of Grant Development at Baltimore City Community College and is working toward an MFA in Community Arts at Maryland Institute College of Art. McCann creates and facilitates classes, workshops and retreats. These have included after school programs, staff and artist meetings, committee meetings and board retreats. She organizes and installs exhibitions and related programming from conception to completion. Her most recent curatorial endeavor titled, “Portraits of People We Love: Newark” will be held at Gallery Aferro October 5 - November 17, 2018. Partner organizations have included, but are not limited to: Baltimore Clayworks, BikeMore, Creative Alliance, D Center, Enoch Pratt Free Library, Intersection of Change, Load of Fun Gallery, Towson Arts Collective, Wide Angle Youth Media, Young Audiences and the Youth Dreamers. Sarah has facilitated public and collaborative projects and looks forward to continuing her work in Baltimore and beyond. Sarah has a B.S. in studio arts from New York University and an M.A. in Community Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art. She currently serves on the board of the Awesome Foundation Baltimore Chapter and Intersection of Change.
