Randi's profile

Originally from Boston Massachusetts, I am a artist focusing primarily on painting,  textile, printmaking and mixed-media works. After completing my undergraduate degree in Painting and Printmaking at Cornell University, I spent a year in Paris working in various Printmaking and Painting Studios until relocating to Baltimore to earn a graduate degree at The Maryland Institute, College of Art. Currently, I am immersed in creating channels between disciplines  by  the forces of play and process. By  delving into very physical pieces, with processes of deep histories and associations, I look to  discover shared unconcious realms.  I also seek out collaborations in printshops to further these universal  explorations.
I work in a wide range of images, sometimes recognizable and sometimes abstract.  The world between the two is where most of my work resides. The mode of collage allows for play and multiple points-of-view, creating a channel to a subconscious world. The structure for these latest works relies heavily on the imprint of organic shapes and forms derived from nature. Currently I am exploring textiles in every aspect of my practise.
