Richard's profile
Richard was born in New York. But has lived in Maryland for most of his life. He now resides in Upper Falls, Maryland.
Like many, Richard began to draw at an early age. A more formal foundation was set with classes at The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington ,D.C. in his teens. However, not until after years of employment
in food, hotel management, woodworking and furniture restoration did the need for artwork really take hold. Around the year 2006, with the encouragement of friends and his wife he began taking painting lessons. Those lessons began with Nancy Conrad, a well-known artist in Baltimore adept in the Maroget method. He continues group painting with Lee Alban, a nationally acclaimed artist in Havre De Grace, Maryland.
Richard paints a broad range of subjects, favors figures and portraiture and is moved by everyday images, along with interesting vintage, contemporary, and live settings. He works mainly in oil and sometimes pastel.
