In 1972 Michael Leroy Harding graduated from Baltimore’s Mervo High School where he took the music of Isaac Hayes' SHAFT and recruited Students and Teachers to help create the school's first Black History assembly for a 60% all White school.
By 2002, Michael wrote plays about his family that became spin-off from the first play. Michael had to self-produce every play and saw there was not much help to the Unknown Playwright. Michael founded OTR Theater in 2005 to create a platform for the unknown playwright, and aspiring Actors
Baltimore needed more platforms for struggling and aspiring Artists.
That led to forming a theater company without walls, and offering professional-dance and acting lessons. OTR has taken these theater productions to Civic-events, Public-schools, Churches and other local Theater-venues.
The pandemic cost us an audience drop and we decided to also include studio-film production also with our Live-performing-arts.
Michael collaborates with many other multi-discipline artist, and now our goal is a much larger viewing-audience. His desire is to increase our Media / Visual Arts budget hiring more Actors, a more complete Camera-crew, and additional funds for Filming Locations.
