Mark's profile

Writer, critic, and graphic designer Mark Wadley is the editor of BRUISER and a contributor to Post-Trash, Baltimore Fishbowl, Maximumrocknroll, Kirkus Reviews and others. He is the author and designer of the novella-in-stories All By Our Lonesome (2018, Grotesque Materials) and the risograph zine Revenant / A Degenerate Model for Living (2022, Intercourse Publishing). His creative and critical work concerns speculative realism, technology, Southern gothicism, DIY arts communities, and reassessing "low art."

Mark grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and recieved his BA in Philsophy from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee in 2010. In 2018 he graduated from the MFA program in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts at the University of Baltimore, where he served as the editor-in-chief of Welter 51 (2016, Plork Press) and produced Deterritorial Audio Magazine (2017, Grotesque Materials).

A longtime participant in Baltimore’s diverse DIY music, theater and art scene, his varied multimedia output has appeared in print, on vinyl and cassette, onstage and online.
