Ken's profile

Ken Girardini has been a full-time artist, living and working in Carroll County Maryland for more than 30 years after leaving CSC at NASA Goddard.  As an inspired self-learner, Ken explores various media including oil painting, metal sculpture and functional design, photography, digital media and new mixed media montage. Ken's individual work is now centered on digital printing and layering of transparent images with traditional painting media and sculptural elements.  Ken's Patinated Steel Painting was selected to be part of the 25th anniversary exhibit with sister city Kanagawa, Japan, and he has received four Maryland State Individual Artist Awards.  His work is included in the permanent collection of the Embassy of the United States in Ottowa, Canada, the Ambassador's Residence in Georgetown, Guyana, as well as many private collections.  With his wife Julie, they also design and create functional metal furniture and designs for the home.
