Julia's profile

Julia Clouser (b. 1992 Clearwater, Florida) is a conceptual, multidisciplinary artist based in Baltimore, MD. She depicts the perception or failed perception of moments in their natural context, and how this can expose the tension between the familiar fading and the unfamiliar appearing through the use to photography, video, and text related sources. Clouser is currently a resident artist at the Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower and teaches courses in Color Theory at Carroll Community College. She completed her MFA in Multidisciplinary Art from the Mount Royal School of Art at Maryland Institute College of Art with a Concentration in Critical Studies and a Certificate in the College Teaching of Art in 2019, and received her BFA in Fine Art Photography from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in 2014. Clouser was selected as the 2019-2020 recipient of the MFA Fellowship Studio at the Bromo Seltzer Tower and has work in the Transformer FlatFile collection in Washington, DC. Her work has been shown nationally, including at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.
