Judith's profile

Judith Krummeck is a writer, broadcaster, and immigrant. She is the evening drive-time host for WBJC, 91.5 FM, Maryland's classical music station, and the author of three books. Her debut novel, The Deceived Ones, a contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, was published in May 2024. Her biographical memoir, Old New Worlds, was a finalist in the 2020 Next Generation Indie Book Awards and the 14th Annual National Indie Excellence® Awards. A memoir in essays, Beyond the Baobab, recounts her immigrant experience. Her screenplay adaptation of Philida, based on the Man Booker Prize finalist by André Brink, is currently in development. Judith is the recipient of a Creativity Grant from the Maryland State Arts Council. She graduated summa cum laude with an MFA in Creative Writing & Publishing Arts from the Univerity of Baltimore, and she holds a BA in Drama & History of Art from the Univesity of Cape Town.
