Jason's profile
Jason is working hard to one day being recognized as the greatest comedian of his time. This year he was a semi-finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and was also featured at this summer’s Just for Laugh’s Comedy Festival in Montreal, the largest and most prestigious invitation only comedy event, drawing 1.5 million people each summer for more than 27 years. The Just For Laughs Group focuses on festivals, TV productions, live shows and talent management. Over the years they have showcased notable comedians such as Jerry Seinfeld, Louis C.K., Wanda Sikes and Dave Chappelle. Also, attendees of this year’s ARTSCAPE, the premier art festival on the east coast, had an opportunity to experience Jason’s coordination of LOL@ARTSCAPE, the festivals first FREE comedy show, which opened at capacity.
Jason Weems was raised on the east side of Baltimore where he developed a love to make people smile from watching his father at work. He attended Dunbar High School where he began hosting shows and was proudly voted “Class Clown”. He later graduated from Morgan State University with a degree in Family & Consumer Sciences. During the day he is a kindergarten teacher’s aide at Baltimore’s Leith Walk Elementary School, but by night he makes people laugh all along the East Coast with his conversational comedy.
On Saturday, December 4, 2010, Jason will debut his first hour comedy special, Jason Weems, Vol. 1: Intellectual Property, in Baltimore at The LOF/t Theater on 120 West North Avenue. Tickets are only available online at www.JasonWeemsComedy.com.
