Jack's profile
My professional and artful lives have been a journey to share and foster self-expression in classrooms throughout my professional career.
I am living in SW Baltimore and continuing to conceptualize, experiment, and herein present. Having stepped into septagenarianhood, I find I am still creating images that engage and entertain.
I am a practitioner of using what I have, what is left over, and what is in the box of materials. I use scraps of wood that could easily been put in a fire. I use scraps of paper that usually would go into the rubbish. I use metal that generally goes into recycling.
These new series of wooden object and metal men are all products of craft using remnants. Some new pieces use brss fasteners and tetra-pak interiors.
I say, this practice of using that which I have heightens my notion of creative enjoyment. That satisfies me.
Upon reappraisal of this collection of images and words I find myself also satisfied with the presentation of this portion of my body of work covering 50 years. I include herein new work from 2022.
