Issam's profile

Issam Zineh is a poet, editor, and public health worker. He is author of Unceded Land (Trio House Press, 2022), a Trio House Press Editors’ Selection and finalist for the Housatonic Book Award and Balcones Prize for Poetry, among others. His work often engages with "territory" as both demarcated physical and psychological spaces and explores associated concepts: boundaries, identity, power, subjugation, resistance, and reconciliation. Much of his current work contends with the politics of place and accounts for the marks of the past in poems that tangle with love and intimacy. His newest writing appears or is forthcoming in AGNI, Columbia Journal, The Yale Review, Gulf Coast, and Prairie Schooner. He lives on Paskestikweya land (Baltimore, MD).
