Ellie's profile

Ellie has a B.F.A. in painting and drawing from Maryland Institute College of Art and a M.A.T. in museum education from George Washington University.

Being creative and promoting the arts wherever and whenever possible is important for her growth as an artist.  Ellie has coordinated art exhibits that highlighted the creativeness of Maryland Women for the Maryland Women’s Center and an annual student featured exhibit for Havre de Grace Art Students at Arts by the Bay.

Her commissions include views of the Inner Harbor for Johns Hopkins Bayview’s Mason Lord Building; Mural for Patapsco United Methodist Church, Sanctuary Painting for Zion United Church of Christ, and pastel and oil portraits of many beloved family pet as well as portraits of children and adults.

Besides her love of animals, Ellie loves exploring the Maryland countryside painting the beauty of the MidAtlantic area.  Ellie is currently working on a series of paintings that celebrate and portray the beauty of Harford County and surrounding areas.  Most Wednesdays you can find Ellie along with her fellow artists at Liriodendron for an informal art critique of their latest works.

Commendations and certificates of appreciation include recognition from Animal Rescue Organizations, the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland for her artistic contributions. Recognition and inclusion into the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center exhibit on “Creative Women of Maryland.” 

Memberships include: Harford Artists Association, Arts by the Bay and MidAtlantic Plein Air Painters Association.
