Baker Artist Portfolios

Born and raised in Baltimore.  Studied drawing and painting under Laimons Eglitis, DeDree Drees and William Zwingleberg at Catonsville Community College and the University of Maryland Baltimore County.                                                                                                                            I enjoy painting people. I enjoy painting period. I almost always nudge my figurative paintings into a somewhat abstract realm to try and emphasize some facet of the human condition, whether it be good, bad or ugly. Oftentimes, the figure for me becomes just a vehicle for a particular way of handling the paint. I invariably start with a drawing. If my painting can capture just a "little bit of soul" of the subject I feel I've been successful.
