I am a self-taught artist, born in Athens, Ohio 1962. My earliest memories include finger-painting as a child. I work mostly in acrylics using bold colors and heavy textures. I also draw in oil pastels and ink. My work ranges from abstract to realistic. I have done numerous murals, the largest one being 25’ high and 160’ in length for the “Funjungle”, a kids pizza play park chain. I did another one for the same company at a different location approximately 15’ by 70’ in dimensions. The average dimension for the other murals I have done is 8’ by 12’ so I have experience in painting on a grand scale and in public places. I have also had many solo shows at galleries and clubs around Baltimore, the most recent at Captain Larry’s in Federal Hill. I’ve participated in many group exhibitions including one at the American Visionary Art Museum. The most recent was at “Subbasementartstudios”, winner of The Baltimore Citypaper’s Best Gallery Award for 2005. I have also been in numerous art festivals including Artscape and the SoWeBo Art Festival, at which I won Top Honors. I have been published in The Baltimore Sunpaper and Baltimore Style Magazine as well as in books and my works are being shown internationally.
