Beth's profile

Beth Caruso is an emerging Baltimore artist who works in a variety of media. She has received attention for her striking digitally manipulated photographs, which depict aspects of the self in relation to nature and the body. The imagery in her artwork is bold  yet puzzling, as it prompts the viewer to continuously re-examine their perceptions in an effort to make meaning.

Beth’s creative process is inspired by her passion for the arts and her unique approach to seeing the world. Many aspects of her artwork are informed by her liberal arts background, including her interests in literature, history, mythology, psychology, and philosophy. When she's not making art, Beth works as an adjunct English professor and enjoys teaching literature and composition. She champions an interdisciplinary curricular approach and incorporates the arts into her instructional methods whenever possible.
