For as long as I can remember, I have loved to draw and paint. My mother was an artist. We would paint together. In college I studied psychology and painting. After receiving my Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling , I went to work for the Baltimore City Public Schools. I enjoyed 35 wonderful years as a guidance counselor and later school principal. After receiving my doctorate, I taught educational leadership at Loyola and Johns Hopkins Universities. After retiring I returned to my forever love/ painting. I consider myself an abstract expressionist. I create pieces filled with color and varied elements of texture. While always visually interesting, the depth of the composition creates movement and excitement, along with a sense of wonder.Once installed, the piece will “make the room”. My work has been shown throughout the Baltimore-Washington area and is in private collections from New York to Boca Raton.
