Anthony's profile

While volunteering for the Department of Social Services, I was discovered doodling by the department’s director. I was then hired as an illustrator in the print shop creating flyers and newsletters for the center’s events. Not long after, I was given a scholarship to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art shortly, and found I was equally talented in ceramics, charcoal, pastels, tapestries, and other mixed media compellations.

Although my first showing was at the then Studio 409 on Charles Street, in the early 80s. I was able to work closely with UMAR Boxing, local art events were held and sponsored by the Maryland Institute College of Art.

In 2018, I reconnected with my art and founded Reflections Human Development, a non-profit for Artistic Therapy and Community Services. Maryland Arts Council, Baltimore Children & Youth Fund and The Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts was a great place to rekindle my inner artist and creative.

I am very grateful to have my work featured at at Montgomery Plaza, Towson State University, Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute, The Jubilee Arts Center, Lyric Theater, The Maryland Art Place and the Max Gallery and artistic collaborations at the Walters Art Gallery. My artwork has served as a backdrop for music and artists in the City of Baltimore as well as on display.
