Alice's profile

Alice Gadzinski is a mixed media artist based in Baltimore MD where she is currently an Artist in Residence at the Creative Alliance and a Fellow at the Coldstream Homestead Montebello Sculpture Park Fellowship.  Alice graduated from MICA's Rinehart School of Sculpture in May of 2016. She received a BFA in photography from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids MI in 2005. Between her BFA and MFA Alice worked as a prop and backdrop designer for an independently owned photography business as well as various teaching positions including working with youth via Americorps, adjunct teaching photography, and substitute teaching in the k-12 public school system. She has been in numerous solo and group shows showing photography, found objects assemblage, paper-mache, and ceramics. Since finishing her MFA Alice has partnered with Charm City Puppets creating custom puppets for shows and individuals, assisting in teaching workshops, and producing commissioned work for the Joffrey Ballet. Alice has also been an Artist in Residence at the Patterson Park Charter School where she worked with multiple age groups to make glowing wearables and floats for the annual Patterson Park Lantern Parade.  Alice  also been been working with the American Visionary Museum as a teaching artist, has sold her work at Bazzart and currently works part time in their gift shop; Sideshow. Recent shows have included In Place in Nashville TN,  School 33 in Baltimore MD,  Whitdel Arts in Detroit MI, and Olly Olly Gallery in Fairfax VA.

Currently Alice is undergoing treatment for stage 2 breast cancer while continuing  to make work and remain visible in the Baltimore Art Scene.
