Linda's profile

I was born on Long Island and went to college in Pennsylvania, at Beaver
College, now Arcadia University. In 1965 I received my BFA in graphic design along with a minor in printmaking. In 1978 I moved to Baltimore. And it has been my home ever since. Balimore is also where, in the early 80's, I estabished my first studio.
All of my work has been deeply affected by early childhood explorations in the natural world and later travels to beautiful and wild places including Nova Scotia, the west of Ireland, Pacific Northwest and American Southwest. In recent years I have been spending my summers on a lake in western Massachusetts.
Between 2002 and 2018 I was Resident Artist for the Post-Baccalaureate Fine Art Program at Maryland Institute College of Art. I have had my work exhibited in galleries, and museums throughout the U.S., including Baltimore Museum of Art and Erie Museum. My work is in the permanent collections of the Delaware Art Museum, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Racine Art Museum, and Museum of Art and Design, to name a few. I have received three Maryland State Arts Council Grants and three fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.
