Dark to Light : Being Human Exhbit @ the Living Well
The First installment of three Black and White social/environmental photography & multi-meda pieces dealing with light texture and subject.
Baltimore, Maryland, December 11, 2010 â?? Baltimore based photographer to the stars, both local and national, Tya Anthony, is no stranger to putting eye to view finder and delivering an image so crisp, clean and full of life that you may forget that it is actually a snap shot and not an oil painting. Owner and head photographer of Eyeni Photography, Anthony, wanting to create more of an intimate avenue to release her much anticipated collection decided to pull together the up coming show Dark to Light: Being Human which is being held at The Living Well, 2443 N. Charles Street, on December 11, 2010 from 6-10pm. The concept behind the collection is allowing you, the viewer, a chance to become privy to the shades of people that arenâ??t usually seen. Anthonyâ??s entire vision was to express her journey through connecting with her subjects and allowing them to show sides of themselves that they wouldnâ??t normally show. Be prepared to attend Anthonyâ??s first official gallery showing dressed in black and white attire, view breathtaking images that are far from staged and full of emotion and take home a signed copy of the first of a three series photo book collection. Author and Baltimore writer who pens using various mediums of life, Nicole â??Luminousâ? Swett, will host the evening of events. there will also be live entertainment by Michelle Stafford Wellness, LLC. Refreshments provided by The Living Well and sounds provided by SunRa. Special surprise performances by Jahiti of Brown FISH, Sahffi, Ab-Rock and Ad-lib.

Dark to Light : Being Human
Dark to Light is the first of three Black and White photography & Multi Media exhibits by Tya Anthony of EyeniPhoto.
Tya is a Baltimore based photographer that captures the life style, love and attitude of her subjects.
Baltimore has been good to me in these last 7 years of growth and has allowed me to gain the knowledge to succeed in what i love the most. i love telling stories through my pieces.... imagine an ever changing environment and in a moments notice a new story is formed. that is my world behind the lens. dragging couches , speakers, sneakers, rain sticks, grandfather chairs, you name it...being spontaneous always brings things to LIFE in an instant.
i try not to pose anyone the same. i find that posing artists is some what limiting to the process. i consider my creative process to be an organic experience even down to the soundtrack thats played in the studio. considering most of my subjects are lyricists i always play some obscure off the wall " where'd you get that or who is that" ecclectix mix.
it seems that no matter how many stick figure drawings and magazine clippings i paste to my print boards, i allow my environment to create itself through conversation and laughter. some of my favorite work is unplanned.
i Plan to continue exhibiting in galleries in baltimore and the east coast with the dreams of one day showing in London.

Phire in Philly
abstract visual art displayed by digital Nikon D300 representing the day of and the day after a row home fire in E. Oak Lane,Phila, PA. While visiting my brother and sister-in-law's new house, a house fire not 3 doors down shakes everyone out of their homes in the middle of the night due to electrical issues. My sister-in-law was the first to smell the smoke. We raced outside knocking on everyones door to get them out of their houses while my brother-in-law spoke to the fire department. I'm so thankful for the families saved that night. Luckily the owner of the home was not home but that also meant it was extremely hard to get in touch with him to let him know his home was on fire. i quickly grabbed my camera to capture this moment. Even into the next day I could still see excess fire extinguisher residue and began documenting the day after.
