I was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 1970. Raised in Phoenix, Arizona until I was 10 or 11, then spent the remainder of my youth south of Ketchum, Idaho. When I was able to, in my early twenties, moved to Seattle, Washington, on my own and in pursuit of Art School. Cuba Journal

When traveling, in particular to a specific place and for a large amount of time, I keep and make journals for that individual experience. These are some samples of the book that was made while and after traveling in Cuba.

    In March 2010, I spent 3 weeks in Egypt. Starting in Giza and then traveling west, through the Great Sand Sea, to Siwah, near the Lybian border. Some of these images were used in the "painting" Desert Butterfly and others will be incorporated into a, or several other "paintings" in the future.

    • Recent Works

    These "Paintings" consist of Polaroid images photographed then put through a process of unmasking the white border and then etched upon (like the birds in Matter the Sky) and/or ink transfers placed directly to the canvas and then "burned" into the emulsion (like Internal Tattooing). The body of work has an emphasis on travels and childhood nostalgia.
